Mom's Day Out.

So for mother's day this year, we (me, kim, kris, & cousin colleen) got our mom's and betty a special sightseeing tour of Saratoga. The theme was, You May Have Done Saratoga, But Never Like This! We wrote clues that they had to figure out that took them to different destinations around town.



We first boarded the trolley at the south end of town and rode it to Skidmore College. There, they read the first clue (find the map, find the pond, take a photo) and then we enjoyed lunch at the college cafeteria! Which was actually really good - no wonder the freshman 15 has become the freshman 40.



Then on to Clue #2 - Places You Will Never Live. We did a walking tour of North Broadway (gorgeous old homes - big money).




For Clue #3 - Horses, Saratoga Style; they had to find a few of the horse sculptures around town. This one involved lots of shopping, especially for us!




And for Clue #4 - Hockaloogie; they found their way to Congress Park to visit Spit and Spat (the spitting fountains) to make a wish, play a game of checkers on the stone tables, and ride the carousel.





And finally, we wound up at the racetrack. Post-time was later today for Twilight Racing. We got there in time for the last three races (Kimmy hit an exacta!). We feasted on angie's chicken, pasta salad, chips, fresh fruit, bread & tomatoes, and Luxemborg chocolates. It was a fabulous day and a fun way to celebrate mother's day (just a little late :)

The Lake.

My Bebop (grandfather) would always say, "When you come to the lake again, drop in." And all his departing guests would say, "OK, we will." - but not ever seem to get the joke.

Summer at the lake can't be beat. Sailing, boat rides, throwing anchor in Log Bay (or any bay for that matter) and going for a swim, playing at the playground next door, doing arts and crafts next door (usually involves painting a rock), building drip castles, and swimming at the deep end (off the end of the dock).

Prom Fabulous

Saturday night was the Munter Farm High School prom. Kim, Kris, and Lisa decided to plan a prom for those who never went to their prom and those that wanted to re-live their proms - and it was a huge success! The 80's looks were spectactular! Some of the girls even saved their dresses and wore them again. Here are some highlights...

Kudos to the Prom Committe! It was a spectacular event. Everyone went all out and really had a Fabulous time!!

A Birthday Cruise

So Mom and Dad gave me an early birthday present today. We went on a lovely cruise with Kim and Chad (also an anniversary gift to them) on the lake in a Hacker-Craft wooden boat.


The boat isn't too old, it just looks it. It seats a bunch of people, is built out of mahogany, and has a couple engines in it that really make it move. There was an old couple with us so he didn't drive fast enough for my taste but it was a wonderful way to spend the morning.
