A relevant question: Is it a cold or the flu?

In the almost 10 years I have known Paul, I have Never, Ever, seen him this sick. He's actually a pretty good patient; doesn't ask for much and is very appreciative of everything. I'm fearing that this streak may come to an end if he doesn't get better soon.

Anyway, I found a handy dandy table online to help determine if you've got a cold or the flu and with the sickness that seems to be affecting everyone I know, I thought this would be helpful.

Next year, flu shots.

Buds

Ryan just loves his Uncle Chad and was thrilled when he was in town on business and got to have a 'sleepover' here. Chad hooked him up with some Smith swag (note the headband that accentuates the ears). Would you believe those ears actually don't hear that well?

We took him to get his hearing tested yesterday. Turns out he has 100% fluid-filled inner ears. His eardrums don't move a bit. It is accounting for 25 dB hearing loss in each ear -- and I thought he was just ignoring me :) We're waiting a few more weeks to see if they drain at all and if they don't, he has to have tubes put in to force them to drain. Walking in to the hearing test room, he said "I hope I pass!"

Up, Up, and Away

Ryan, Paul, and Uncle Boyd hit Park City Resort. If he were just a bit taller, getting on the chair would be easier. Other than that, Ryan is really enjoying skiing and cruising along. Yesterday we skiied at Sundance and he sped past me at one point with a woo hoo and a laugh!
